Privacy Policy
Grandparents Guide to Trading Card Games, by RobKate Apps. Last updated October 2026.
The short version: we don't ask you to create an account, we don't collect your personal information, we don't run ads, and we don't use analytics or tracking. What you type into the app stays on your own device.
What we collect
Nothing. The app has no sign-up, no login, and no way for us to see who you are or what you do inside it. We do not collect your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers, and we have no server that receives your data.
What stays on your device
A few features save information locally, in your phone or browser's own storage, so the app can remember it next time you open it. This includes:
- Collection Tracker: the cards you choose to log, with details such as set, card number, and what you paid.
- Grandkid Notes: any names, favorite games, birthday reminders, and notes you choose to type in.
- Preferences and progress: your color theme, text size, last game viewed, quiz and game scores, and badges you have earned.
This information never leaves your device unless you choose to export it. The export and backup buttons create a file that you save and control yourself. We never receive it. Because the data lives only on your device, clearing the app's data (or uninstalling the app) deletes it permanently, and we have no copy that could restore it.
Offline use
The app saves its own pages and images on your device so it keeps working without an internet connection. This stored copy is part of the app itself and contains none of your personal information.
Outside services and links
- Fonts: the app may load its text fonts from Google Fonts. When it does, Google may receive standard technical information such as your IP address, as with any website that uses Google Fonts. See Google's privacy policy.
- Hosting: the app is served through GitHub Pages. Like almost every website, the hosting provider may keep basic technical logs of visits (such as IP address and browser type). We do not read, analyze, sell, or use those logs.
- Links to other sites: some entries link to outside sites, such as price-checking sites, auction houses, and news articles, which open in your browser. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we don't control.
Children
This guide is written for adults, especially grandparents and other family members who are new to trading card games. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Not affiliated with card companies
Grandparents Guide to Trading Card Games is an independent, unofficial educational resource. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Pokémon, Nintendo, Bandai, Wizards of the Coast, Konami, The Topps Company, Riot Games, Disney, or any other company it mentions. All game names, characters, and artwork belong to their respective owners. Prices shown are for general reference only, not appraisals or financial advice.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how the app handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
